Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps

Celebrating 65 Years of Dedicated Service
(1960-2025)

About Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps

On September 9, 1960, a meeting was held at the American Legion building in Northvale. On this day, the groundwork was laid for what would become the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Since then, the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps has made a commitment to serve its community and those nearby, faithfully and professionally. Starting with only a handfull of members and a 1951 Cadillac, the corps has grown to what it is today. With over thirty active members and two Type III rigs, the Northvale Ambulance Corps covers not only Northvale but also Rockleigh and those communities of the 18th District.
The success of the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps is based upon the hard work and dedication of its members, past and present. Yet, for this success to endure, new members are needed to help us continue performing basic life skills to the people in our area when injury or illness occur. If you would like to join us, please contact us at 201-768-6040. Our address is 196 Firenze Street in Northvale.

Join Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corp

The Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a group of highly trained and dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians and First Responders that provide Basic Life Support and Ambulance transport to the residents of Northvale and our surrounding towns. We do our best to be there for you and your family in time of sudden illness or injury. The members of our Corps are your friends and neighbors that volunteer each week to be ready to serve.

Our numbers are shrinking. We need your help. You don’t need any prior experience only an interest in helping. The ambulance Corps can provide you all the training you will need so you know what to do if a loved one, friend, or neighbor, has chest pain, breathing problems, allergic reaction, diabetic emergency, or if they are involved in a fall or injured in a motor vehicle crash. You can learn what to do and how to help in these emergencies and many others as you become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Our EMT’s work side by side with highly trained Paramedics from area hospitals to bring the Emergency room into your living room and help people with stroke or heart attack or other life-threatening emergency.

There are many ways to help. Our youth squad accept members from the age of 15 year's old and they begin to answer calls at age 16.
